Parts needed list: the car comes in, the parts are listed, you see where to get them
It is the most common job in any workshop: a car comes in, the parts to replace are listed, anything on the shelf is used and the rest is bought from a parts supplier. In Baktam that list lives on the work order. For each line, Baktam looks at your own stock first, then at the catalogs your connected suppliers have published. In one click you use it from stock, buy it instantly or ask for quotes.

What is it for?
In the workshop
The technician writes the parts on paper, brings it to the office, and the office rings suppliers one by one.
With Baktam
The technician writes the list on the work order, and can paste a multi-line list from a spreadsheet or a message.
In the workshop
A part that is already on the shelf gets bought again because nobody knew.
With Baktam
Each line is matched against your stock first (OEM number, barcode, SKU, or a similar name). If it is there, “Use from stock” adds it to the job.
In the workshop
Nobody is sure which parts were ordered and which have arrived.
With Baktam
Every line shows its status: open, used from stock, ordered, quote requested, received.
How does it work?
- 1
List the parts
On the work order's “Parts needed” card, type the part name, number and quantity; Enter opens a new line.
- 2
See where they are
Next to each line you see your own stock, your connected suppliers' price and stock (if they choose to show them) and any integrated distributor catalog. The cheapest comes first.
- 3
Use from stock or buy instantly
If it is in stock, it is added to the work order and taken out of stock. If a supplier shows the price and stock, “Buy now” places the order in one click.
- 4
Otherwise, ask for quotes
Select the lines you couldn't find and send them to your connected suppliers as one request; the quotes come back to a comparison screen.
Who uses it?
Technician
Lists the parts for their own job. Sees no prices and does not buy.
Manager / workshop lead
Uses parts from stock, orders with Buy now or asks for quotes.
Workshop owner
Sees which parts came from stock and which were bought in, and what they cost.
This feature is part of Baktam, the garage management software that keeps the whole workshop in one place.
Frequently asked questions
How does Buy now work?
If your connected supplier has published the part with a price and has enough stock (or doesn't show stock), “Buy now” appears. The price comes from the supplier's catalog and the supplier is notified immediately. The supplier can reject with a reason, in which case the line opens again.
Is the part added to the work order when it arrives?
Yes. When you tap “Received”, the part goes into your stock, a purchase invoice record is created and, if the work order is still open, it is added as a line at its real cost.
Can technicians buy parts?
No. A technician can only add and remove lines on jobs assigned to them. Buying is for users with purchasing rights (owner and manager).
