If you would rather not use the cloud, install Baktam on your own machine with Docker. Your data stays with you, in your country, and an internet outage won't stop the workshop.
Why self-host?
The cloud isn't right for every business. Running Baktam on your own server brings four key benefits.
Data on your own server
Customer records, invoices, cash movements — all on your machine. No data is sent to Baktam and there is no outside access.
Not dependent on the internet
It runs on the workshop's local network. If the internet connection drops, the cash book still opens and work orders are still saved.
Data stays in your country
Your data never leaves the server you control — helpful when your policies or your customers require local data residency.
Full control
You decide the backup policy, access rules and log retention. Domain, SSL and user quotas — your call.

Installation in three steps
If you know basic Linux commands, you are ready in half an hour. If not, we take care of it.
Get the compose file
We send you a single docker-compose.yml that defines the Baktam app and a PostgreSQL database.

Enter the database password, the session secret and your licence key. We send the template along with it.

One command brings the service up; the database schema is created automatically on first start.
