Vehicle service history: answer “what did we do last time?” in three seconds

When a customer asks “which brake pads did you fit last time?”, you type the plate instead of digging through files. Every work order, part fitted, payment and note for the vehicle is on one screen. You can also show the customer the vehicle's service history on a public page with a QR code.

What is it for?

In the workshop

Old jobs are in folders and nobody knows when a part was last replaced.

With Baktam

Search by plate: work orders, lines, mileage, payments and notes in date order.

In the workshop

A customer has three cars, each recorded somewhere different.

With Baktam

Several vehicles on one customer card; balance and payments by customer in one place.

In the workshop

A customer selling their car can't prove its service history.

With Baktam

Turn on the vehicle's QR history page; the customer scans the QR and sees the work done. Prices and notes are hidden by default.

How does it work?

  1. 1

    Search the plate

Type the plate or the VIN into the search box at the top.

  2. 2

    Look at the history

Every job, part and mileage reading for the vehicle; the customer's balance and contact details in the same place.

  3. 3

Share the QR if you like

Turn on the public history from the vehicle page, then print or download the QR. The QR is also on the check-in sheet.

Who uses it?

Front desk / cashier

Sees the vehicle's history at check-in and reminds the customer.

Technician

Sees what was done before and which part was fitted.

Vehicle owner (customer)

Scans the QR to see their vehicle's service history.

This feature is part of Baktam, the garage management software that keeps the whole workshop in one place.

Frequently asked questions

Does the QR page show the customer's personal details?

Not by default. The page shows the plate, make and model, the last 4 characters of the VIN and the jobs. The owner's name only appears if you turn it on, and it is masked. Mileage is shown; prices and notes stay hidden unless you turn them on.

Is the QR page on for every vehicle?

No. It is off by default and you turn it on per vehicle. Renewing the link makes the old QR stop working.

Are jobs done by other workshops shown too?

On paid plans, records from other Baktam workshops with an exactly matching VIN that have agreed to share can also appear; those records never show price, mileage, notes or the technician's name.
