ZATCA e-invoicing and VAT invoices for garages

In Saudi Arabia, Baktam connects to ZATCA's Fatoora platform for Phase 2. You onboard your own e-invoicing unit, and each sale you issue is signed, reported to or cleared by ZATCA and printed with ZATCA's QR code. In other countries Baktam prints invoices in your country's format (for example a Tax Invoice with your TRN in the UAE, or a VAT invoice in the UK), but does not send them to any e-invoicing network.

What is it for?

In the workshop

Invoices are retyped in a separate e-invoicing tool.

With Baktam

The invoice is issued straight from the sale; customer, lines and VAT come from the same record.

In the workshop

It is unclear which customers need a standard tax invoice and which a simplified one.

With Baktam

A sale to a customer with a valid VAT number, or to a company, becomes a standard tax invoice that ZATCA clears; other sales become simplified invoices that are reported.

In the workshop

If ZATCA can't be reached, the invoice is forgotten.

With Baktam

A signed invoice that couldn't be sent is resent automatically; the status shows on the sale.

How does it work?

  1. 1

    Onboard your e-invoicing unit

In Settings, enter the one-time password from the Fatoora portal; Baktam obtains the unit's certificate (CSID) and runs ZATCA's compliance checks.

  2. 2

    Issue from the sale

With one click on a sale, the invoice is signed as XML and reported or cleared.

  3. 3

    Print with the QR code

A reported or cleared sale prints as a Simplified Tax Invoice or Tax Invoice with ZATCA's QR code.

Who uses it?

Workshop owner

Onboards the e-invoicing unit and manages invoice settings.

Front desk / cashier

Issues the invoice from the sale and shares the printout with the customer.

This feature is part of Baktam, the garage management software that keeps the whole workshop in one place.

Frequently asked questions

What are the current limits?

Each sale is issued with a click rather than automatically, completed job cards print as Invoice, credit notes are not yet created when a reported sale is cancelled, and each business has one e-invoicing unit.

Which plans include ZATCA e-invoicing?

ZATCA e-invoicing is part of the Pro and Enterprise plans.

Do you support Peppol or other e-invoicing networks?

No. Outside Saudi Arabia (and e-Fatura in Türkiye), Baktam prints invoices in your country's format but does not connect to e-invoicing networks. Baktam is not accounting software; reports export to Excel for your accountant.
